HERBAL MEDICINE AND WHOLISTIC HEALING
Venue: LUOS community allotment, East Hale allotments - Mill Mead Road, N17
Dates: 7 week introductory course 
Monday 9th, 16th and 23rd May
Break for Bank Holiday Monday (30th) then resume 
Monday 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th June 
Chelsea physic Garden session/visit on 20th June  
Time: 11.45am - 2.45pm
Are you interested in the powerful properties of plants? Want to learn how to begin to grow your own medicinal herbs? Want to know what you can do to assist in your own healing and total wellbeing? This exciting course offers you the opportunity to make herbal remedies, explore and understand herbal medicine theory and to understand its place in wholistic healing.
You will learn how to:
•  Make herbal preparations for yourself, family and friends from kitchen/garden herbs
•  Explore traditional concepts of herbs and healing

•  Use a range of herbal teas for various purposes
•  Undertstand the importance of  nutrition and herbal medicine

•  Understand how herbal  medicine can be used to enhance your mood
•  Plant and grow your own medicinal herb 
•  Appreciate the role of herbal medicine in wholistic healing
•  And much more! 
Applicants must be 18 years and over.

MUSHROOM CULTIVATION FOR BEGINNERS
Venue: LUOS community allotment, East Hale allotments - Mill Mead Road, N17
Dates:  Course1: 4th and 5th June 
Course2: 17th and 18th September
Time: 10.30am - 4.30pm
Come and learn the basics of mushroom cultivation. Explore various techniques using grain, straw and wood for growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms such as Oyster, Reishi and Shiitake mushrooms. 
This will be a hands on experience; we will cover everything you need to know 
to get you started. It is also a great recap for any previous attendees.
The course will cover:
What are Mushrooms?
How do Mushrooms grow?
How do you grow Mushrooms at home?
Mushroom Aftercare
How to make and use Spore Prints, Spawn & Spore Syringes 
Where to get everything?
Each participant will leave with an innoculated mushroom growing jar,  handouts and a “How To Do It” CD-ROM (video / eBook bundle).
Cost: £70 for 2 days. £40 for 1 day.


LUOS BIKE CLUB
Venue: Waterside Way, Hale Village, London N17 9FT
Dates: Every Saturday
Time: 10.00am - 2.00pm
Learn to ride, Bike repairs, Group rides and Road safety.

DEVELOPING PRACTICAL GARDENING SKILLS
(City & Guilds Level 1 Award)
Venue: LUOS community allotment, East Hale allotments, Mill Mead Rd, N17 9QU
Dates: 
Four 6-week courses: 
Fridays 10 June - 15 July
Saturdays 11 June - 16 July
Fridays 16 September - 28 October
Saturdays 17 September - 29 October
Time: 9.30am - 2.30pm
This course is for:
•  Anyone involved in community gardening project, who wants to develop their understanding and skills
•  Anyone who is thinking about working as a gardener or making some changes to their home garden but lacks the experience and confidence

Learning is assessed through the development of a course portfolio which allows for reflection on theoretical and practical learning and an opportunity for guided input into your gardening activity elsewhere. Learning will be guided informative lectures, interactive and practical.
